The electronic interface will be installed onto a wireless enabled laptop mounted on a mobile cart at the bedside. This will be networked to the ED computer system allowing information to be entered remotely.

Clinical data will be entered by the clinicians assessing patients presenting with acute asthma. This will include management details and treatment orders. A series of prompts and management options will aid and guide patient management and discharge planning depending on the clinical information entered.

When the patient encounter is complete, the information is saved and printed and clinical data stored in a secure database.
