The Medical Systems Development Research Group (MSDRG) is a collaborative network of practicing emergency physicians and information technology consultants. We investigate, evaluate and undertake research and development in technology solutions which meet the needs of emergency and hospital clinicians.
As a research group, we believe that emergency departments and therefore patient care will benefit from evidence based, problem orientated and patient focused approach to information technology (IT) innovations. Our long term vision is to create interoperable and evidence based decision support platforms to complement Emergency Physician practice.
The long term goal is the research and development of interoperable and adaptable electronic interfaces that combines clinical documentation, decision support systems and automated results reporting onto a single seamless interface.
The aim of MSDRG is to bring together expertise for the development of innovative and practical information technology solutions to emergency medicine practice. The primary focus of the group is the development and research of electronic decision support systems based on established clinical guidelines and validated clinical decision rules and clinical scoring systems.
